Cajun Potatoes

With their crunchy exterior and zesty Cajun kick, these potatoes are a crowd pleasing treat that's hard to resist.



Cajun Potatoes are a flavorful snack inspired by bold Cajun cuisine, known for its smoky, spicy and zesty seasoning blends. Crispy fried or baked potatoes are tossed in aromatic spices and paired with a creamy, tangy sauce that perfectly balances the heat. Popular as a restaurant style appetizer, they are loved for their irresistible crunch and punchy flavors. Easy to make and incredibly addictive, Cajun potatoes are perfect for parties, game nights or indulgent snacking.

Ingredients:

  • Baby potatoes: 7-8

  • Corn flour: 2 tbsp

  • Wheat flour: 1 tbsp

  • Black pepper powder: 1/4 tsp + 1/2 tsp

  • Mayonnaise: 1/4 cup

  • Chilli sauce: 1 tbsp

  • Onion: 2 tbsp + for garnish [finely chopped]

  • Mixed herbs: 1/2 tsp

  • Milk - 1/3 cup

  • Red chilli powder - for garnish

  • Coriander leaves - for garnish [finely chopped]

  • Salt: to taste

  • Oil: for shallow fry


Method:

Rinse the baby potatoes and boil them in water with some salt till they are 80% cooked. Place the potatoes on a flat surface and use a glass to press it.


In a bowl, mix corn flour, wheat flour, 1/4 tsp black pepper powder and salt. Add water to make a slightly runny batter. Coat the potatoes in the batter and shallow fry them till golden and crisp.


In another bowl, mix mayonnaise, chilli sauce, 2 tbsp chopped onion, mixed herbs, 1/2 tsp black pepper powder, salt and milk. Place the crispy potatoes on a serving plate and pour the mayonnaise mixture over them generously. Garnish with chopped onions, red chilli powder and chopped coriander leaves.
