Paneer Tawa Pulao is a popular Mumbai street-style delicacy, inspired by the iconic tawa pulao that vendors prepare on huge sizzling tawas. What makes it special is the smoky flavor of rice tossed with pav bhaji masala, crunchy veggies, and golden paneer cubes that elevate it into a wholesome treat. Loved for its quick preparation and irresistible taste, this pulao is a fusion of comfort food and street-style indulgence, making it a favorite for both everyday meals and festive spreads.

Ingredients:
Butter - 1 tbsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Cumin - 1 tsp
Onion - 1 small (thinly sliced)
Tomato - 1 (chopped)
Peas - 1/4 cup
Capsicum - 1/4 (diced)
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Paneer - 8-10 big cubes
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Pav Bhaji masala - 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Basmati Rice - 3/4th cup
Coriander leaves -1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Method:
Cook Basmati rice with water till it is just cooked. Strain it and run it through cold water to stop cooking.
Heat butter and oil in a pan. Add cumin and allow it to splatter. Add onions, peas, capsicum and tomatoes. Add ginger garlic paste and cook till veggies are cooked. Add paneer and mix. Add red chilli powder, garam masala, pav bhaji masala and salt. Mix well with little water if required. Add cooked rice, coriander leaves and lemon juice. Mix well and serve.
