Soft, flavorful, and utterly comforting, this Banana Bread brings together the goodness of ripe bananas and the warmth of home baking.

Banana Bread is a timeless classic that originated as a clever way to use overripe bananas, turning them into a moist, flavorful loaf. Loved for its soft texture and natural sweetness, it’s a staple in home baking around the world. Whether enjoyed plain, with nuts, or a hint of chocolate, Banana Bread offers the perfect balance of comfort and nostalgia. It’s easy to make, smells divine while baking, and tastes even better the next day.
It take about 20 mins of prep and 40mins of baking time for one loaf of bread.
Ingredients:
Bananas - 2 (ripe)
Jaggery Powder - 6 tbsp
Butter - 1/2 cup
Self raising Flour - 1 cup (or sifted regular flour)
Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
Milk - 1/2 cup
Chocolate chips - 1/2 cup
Walnuts - 1/2 cup (chopped)
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Method:
Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl. Add jaggery powder and butter and mix well. In another bowl, mix together flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon powder, chocolate chips and walnuts. Fold in the wet and dry ingredients with milk and vanilla essence. Pour the mixture into a greased mold. Bake at 180C for 40 - 45mins.
Slice it warm, pair it with coffee, or enjoy it as a sweet snack — this Banana Bread is pure homemade happiness in every bite. I have toasted it and garnished with some berries, nuts, nutella and whipped cream
