Mushroom Rice

A new and easy way to have mushrooms. This is a one pot rice dish which I am sure will be a star dish at your house parties.



I came across this dish in the internet while I was searching for new mushroom recipes. It was an instant hit in my house as it is as easy as it is tasty.



It takes about 20mins to prepare 2 servings.

 

Ingredients:

  • Basmati rice - 1 cup

  • Butter - 1 tbsp

  • Oil - 1 tbsp

  • Onion - 1 medium sized [chopped]

  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp

  • Mushrooms - 200g [sliced]

  • Chilli flakes - 1 tsp

  • Mixed herbs - 1 tsp

  • Pepper powder - 1 tsp

  • Salt - to taste

  • Soy sauce - 1 tsp

  • Schezwan sauce - 1 tsp

  • Fresh cream - 1/2 cup

  • Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp [finely chopped]


Method:

Cook rice in sufficient water and keep it aside. In a kadai, heat butter with oil. Add chopped onion and saute. Add ginger garlic paste and sliced mushrooms. Saute till mushroom turns golden brown. Add chilli flakes, mixed herbs, pepper powder, salt, soy sauce and schezwan sauce. Add fresh cream and mix well. Add the cooked rice and give it a gentle final mix. Garnish with coriander leaves.
